How it's made

How a roller blind works

Tap a number to see what each part does, and what you'll be choosing at your appointment.

A light grey made-to-measure roller blind fitted inside a white window recess, two-thirds lowered, with a chain on the right

1. Roller and brackets

The fabric winds onto a tube held by two small brackets, inside the recess or on the wall above it. Which one suits your window is settled when it's measured.

Your advisor brings samples of every option to your window, so you can see and feel them before you choose.

Why this range

What Swirl does well

01

Built as blackout blinds

Cut and finished as blackout blinds for your exact window, rather than trimmed down from a stock size. The mechanism is sized to the drop, so it hangs straight and stays that way.

02

4 colourways to compare

Colour behaves differently in north light, in the evening and against your walls. Pick the ones you like here and your advisor brings those exact swatches to the visit.

03

Chosen for real rooms

Customers most often put this range in bay window curtains, door curtains, kitchen curtains — which is a better guide than any spec sheet.

Style notes

What Swirl is like, and where it works

Swirl is a graphic, hand-drawn style geometric print made up as tailored pinch pleat curtains. The photos show a fluid squiggle pattern in green and gold tones against a cream linen-look ground, hung full length in pinch pleat headings. It suits living and dining rooms where the window is a feature and the rest of the scheme is kept fairly plain.

A bold squiggle-line geometric print in two colourways shown: an olive-green trail on a cream ground, and a mustard-gold trail on a cream ground, both with a linen-look woven texture. The pattern reads as continuous wavy ribbons running vertically.

Pairs well with

  • oak or dark wood floors
  • plain neutral or olive walls
  • rattan and woven natural textures

Ideas for your home

  • Made-to-measure pinch pleat curtains for a bay window living room

Suits a bay window with dark timber floors, neutral walls and simple furniture, where the curtains provide the main pattern in the room.

The tall pinch pleat heading and vertical squiggle print make the most of a full-height bay.

  • Made-to-measure pinch pleat curtains for a dining room with garden doors

Works well either side of glazed garden doors, with wooden furniture and greenery outside picking up the warm gold tone.

The mustard colourway brings warmth to a dining space without competing with wooden tones already in the room.

  • Made-to-measure pinch pleat curtains for a kitchen door

Suits a kitchen door or window where a graphic pattern adds interest against plainer cabinetry and worktops.

A geometric print in a kitchen curtain gives a strong focal point without needing extra accessories.

  • Colours available: Kiwi, Chartreuse, Mono, Sienna.
  • Shown here as pinch pleat curtains with a tailored heading and full-length drop.
  • Free fabric samples (up to five) can be posted first class so you can check the colour and scale of the print at home.
