Why this range
What Essence does well
01
Built as cafe style shutters
Cut and finished as cafe style shutters for your exact window, rather than trimmed down from a stock size. The mechanism is sized to the drop, so it hangs straight and stays that way.
02
Chosen for real rooms
Customers most often put this range in bathroom shutters, bay window shutters, bedroom shutters — which is a better guide than any spec sheet.
03
Measured and fitted by us
One team measures, makes and installs. If something isn't right, there's nobody to pass you on to — we come back and sort it.
Style notes
What Essence is like, and where it works
Essence is a plantation shutter range with solid louvred panels, shown here in white and grey full-height and tier-on-tier configurations. The wide slats and tailored frames give a crisp, structured look that suits bay windows, period proportions and plain box-sash windows alike.
Solid louvre plantation shutters shown in soft white and a muted grey, with a smooth matt painted finish and clean horizontal lines from the wide slats.

Ideas for your home
Made-to-measure shutters for a period living room
A bay window with panelled walls and neutral upholstered chairs, where tier-on-tier shutters allow the top and bottom sections to be angled independently.
Tier-on-tier shutters let you shade the lower half of a bay window while keeping daylight coming in above.
Made-to-measure shutters for a calm bedroom
A bedroom with an upholstered headboard and soft furnishings, where full-height white shutters fill the window frame with even, structured louvres.
Full-height solid shutters give a neat, symmetrical finish that suits a restful bedroom.
Made-to-measure shutters for a bright bay window
A curved bay window with cream sofas and a slim console table, where grey shutters wrap the full width of the bay in matching panels.
Shaped and tier-on-tier options mean each panel of a bay can be fitted and angled to match.
- Solid louvre panels, so light control is by angling the slats rather than by any fabric layer.
- Available as full-height, tier-on-tier, cafe style, shaped or tracked door shutters, so bay, sash and door-height windows can be fitted.
- Part of the House Beautiful designer collection.

Questions we get asked
The photos show Essence in white and grey. Grey is the named colourway; the white shown is the frame and panel finish seen in these images. An advisor can bring samples so you can see both against your own walls and woodwork.
Yes. Essence is available in shaped and tier-on-tier configurations, which are commonly used to fit the angled panels of a bay window, as shown in the living room photos here, with each panel measured and fitted individually.
Tier-on-tier shutters are split into two separately opening sections, so the bottom half can be closed for privacy while the top stays open for light. Full-height shutters are one set of panels covering the whole window.
A local advisor visits your home with samples, measures every window precisely and quotes on the spot. Once you're happy, our fitter installs them at a time that suits you — measuring and fitting are included free.
Lead times depend on the range, fabric and any customisation. Your advisor will confirm an exact lead time at the measuring appointment so you know precisely when to expect installation.
Yes — every made-to-measure blind, shutter and motor comes with a 1-year guarantee covering manufacturing defects.
Yes. Pick up to 5 colours you'd like to see and your local advisor will bring those exact swatches to your free home visit so you can see and feel them in your own light. They'll also bring a full range on the day if you'd like to compare more.
