Explained

Geometric blinds, explained

Geometric blinds brings together fabrics built on repeating shapes rather than florals or plains: chevrons, hexagons, cubes, checks, arches and trellis lines. Some ranges are printed flat and crisp, others are woven so the pattern shows through texture rather than colour contrast alone. You'll find the style across roller, Roman, vertical and voile blinds, and it turns up just as often in curtain headings, since several of these fabrics are shared between blinds and curtains. Scale and boldness vary a good deal, from a barely-there tonal weave to a large, high-contrast print, so it's worth thinking about how much pattern a room can take before settling on a colourway.

Suits contemporary, mid-century and art-deco-influenced interiors, and rooms where plain walls and furniture leave room for a patterned window.

Best for

  • Living rooms and bedrooms wanting a feature window without a floral print
  • Rooms with plain walls and furniture that can carry a bolder repeat
  • Matching a blind to curtains made from the same fabric
  • Mid-century or contemporary interiors looking for pattern with structure
  • Bay windows, where a repeat pattern reads well across multiple panels

Worth knowing

  • Large-scale prints can dominate a small window or a busy room, so ask for a sample against your own wall before deciding
  • A few ranges shown here are curtain fabrics rather than blinds, so check the product type list on each range before assuming it comes as a roller or Roman blind

How to choose

  1. 1

Decide how bold you want it

Some fabrics here are subtle tonal weaves (a hexagon or chevron you notice up close), others are high-contrast prints. Think about whether the blind needs to be the focal point or sit quietly.

  2. 2

    Check the product type

The same geometric fabric can appear as a Roman blind, a roller blind, or a curtain heading. Confirm which is available in the range and room you have in mind.

  3. 3

Match or contrast with the room

A bold geometric works well against plain walls and furnishings; if the room already has pattern elsewhere, a tonal or woven-texture option keeps things calmer.

Geometric blinds: questions people ask

Can I get a geometric fabric as both a blind and matching curtains?

Several of the fabrics shown are used across both blinds and curtains, so it's often possible to have a Roman or roller blind in the reveal with curtains in the same or a coordinating geometric print outside it. Your advisor can confirm which fabrics are available in which product during your appointment.

Will a bold geometric pattern look too busy in a small room?

It depends on the scale of the repeat and the colours used; a large, high-contrast print will read more strongly in a small space than a fine tonal weave. Ordering a fabric sample and holding it against your own window in daylight is the most reliable way to judge this before committing.

Do geometric blinds come in blackout versions?

Some of the geometric fabrics shown are used in blackout blinds and curtains, but this varies by range and by which product type you choose. Your advisor will confirm which geometric fabrics are available with a blackout lining or backing when they visit.

Are geometric prints suitable for a vertical blind?

Yes, a small number of ranges in this filter are woven into vertical blind fabric, usually as a subtle tonal pattern rather than a bold print, since large-scale motifs can look disjointed across separate vertical slats.

Can I see a geometric fabric before ordering?

Yes, free fabric samples are available, up to five per order, posted first class, and your advisor also brings the full sample range to your home appointment so you can see the pattern and colourway against your own windows and light.

1. Roller and brackets

The fabric winds onto a tube held by two small brackets, inside the recess or on the wall above it. Which one suits your window is settled when it's measured.

Your advisor brings samples of every option to your window, so you can see and feel them before you choose.

Geometric blinds: your questions answered

How this type behaves in a real room, plus how measuring, fitting and the guarantee work.

Is fitting included in the price?

Yes. The quote you are given covers the product, the fitting and the guarantee. Your fitter hangs everything, checks the operation with you and takes the packaging away.

Who measures the windows?

Your advisor does, on the appointment. That matters for more than convenience: because we take the measurements, the fit is our responsibility rather than yours. Every opening is measured on its own — we never size one window off the one next to it.

What guarantee do I get?

A 1-year guarantee on every blind, shutter and motor we supply and fit. If something goes wrong inside that period, ring the office and we come back out.

Which type of blind suits which room?

Rollers are the simplest and best value and take blackout or dimout fabrics for bedrooms. Romans give a soft, curtain-like fold in living rooms. Venetians and wooden slats let you tilt light rather than just block it, which suits kitchens and studies. Verticals handle wide spans and patio doors. Day & night blinds have alternating stripes so you can trade privacy against light through the day.
