Explained
Blind Screen, explained
Blind Screen® is a close-pleated or finely ribbed fabric screen, sitting somewhere between a fabric roller blind and a slatted venetian in appearance. Rather than solid slats, the surface has a fine vertical rib or concertina texture, and in several ranges it's built alongside fly screen mesh or a blackout or honeycomb layer within the same product. It's shown most often on bedroom, bathroom and patio or bi-fold door windows. Colours in this filter run from soft greys and beiges to charcoal, plus at least one patterned option, so the finish varies more than the mechanism does. Your advisor will bring samples to confirm the exact construction for your opening.
Suits pared-back, soft-toned interiors, mostly greys, charcoals and beiges, where a fine vertical texture is wanted in place of a slatted or heavily patterned blind.
Best for
- Patio and bi-fold doors, where the screen slides or pleats across a wide opening
- Bedrooms and bathrooms wanting a soft, textured look rather than slatted venetians
- Anyone wanting insect screening built into the same product as a blackout or honeycomb blind
- Rooms where a fabric surface is preferred to hard slats or louvres
Worth knowing
- A few ranges pair Blind Screen® with fly screen and blackout or honeycomb construction in one product, so ask your advisor which layer does what before you order
- The plain, ribbed fabric look is closer to a pleated screen than a slatted blind, so check the sample against your own light before deciding
How to choose
- 1
Check what's actually being screened
Some ranges combine Blind Screen® with a fly screen and a blackout or honeycomb layer. Ask your advisor to confirm which fabric handles light and which handles insects.
- 2
Match the texture to your light
These are finely ribbed or pleated fabrics, not slats. Have a sample held against your own window, since the rib reads differently in daylight and lamplight.
- 3
Think about the opening
Several examples are shown on patio and bi-fold doors. For wide or sliding openings, your advisor will confirm on the day how the screen tracks across.
Blind Screen: questions people ask
Is Blind Screen® the same as a venetian blind?
No. Where a venetian has hard horizontal slats, Blind Screen® is a fabric with a fine vertical rib or pleat that lies flat or concertinas as it's raised. Several of the samples describe it as closer to a ribbed or pleated fabric than a slatted look.
Can Blind Screen® keep insects out as well as light?
Some ranges pair a Blind Screen® fabric with a separate fly screen layer in the same product, alongside blackout or honeycomb fabric for light control. Your advisor will explain which layer does which job when they see your window.
Does Blind Screen® come in blackout versions?
A few of the ranges shown here combine Blind Screen® with blackout or honeycomb construction, so blackout is available on some products in this filter. It isn't a feature of every range, so check the specific one you like with your advisor.
Will Blind Screen® suit a patio or bi-fold door?
Several ranges in this filter are shown fitted to patio and bi-fold doors, sliding or pleating across the full opening. Wide or sliding doors are measured individually by your advisor to confirm how the screen will run.
Is Blind Screen® suitable for a bathroom?
A couple of the ranges shown here are used in bathrooms, in plain ribbed fabrics. As with any fabric blind near moisture, your advisor will confirm on the day whether the specific fabric and any backing suit a wet room or bathroom.

1. Roller and brackets
The fabric winds onto a tube held by two small brackets, inside the recess or on the wall above it. Which one suits your window is settled when it's measured.
Your advisor brings samples of every option to your window, so you can see and feel them before you choose.

Why our blind screen® service is right for you
Cut to your window, not trimmed to fit
We measure each recess on site and allow for handles, tiles, sills and tilt-and-turn frames before anything is made.
Samples seen in your own light
A fabric that looks warm under showroom lighting can read grey at home. Your advisor brings the range to your rooms so you judge it against your walls.
Fitted by the people who sold it
Our own fitter installs, squares up and takes the packaging away. Nothing is subcontracted out and there is no surprise charge at the end.
One year of cover
Fabric, mechanism and fitting are covered by our 1-year guarantee. If a chain or a bracket fails, we come back out and put it right.
Finance options available. We offer flexible ways to pay so a whole-house refresh doesn't have to land in one go. Your advisor will talk you through what's available at your appointment.

Blind Screen®: your questions answered
How this type behaves in a real room, plus how measuring, fitting and the guarantee work.
Is fitting included in the price?
Yes. The quote you are given covers the product, the fitting and the guarantee. Your fitter hangs everything, checks the operation with you and takes the packaging away.
Who measures the windows?
Your advisor does, on the appointment. That matters for more than convenience: because we take the measurements, the fit is our responsibility rather than yours. Every opening is measured on its own — we never size one window off the one next to it.
What guarantee do I get?
A 1-year guarantee on every blind, shutter and motor we supply and fit. If something goes wrong inside that period, ring the office and we come back out.
Which type of blind suits which room?
Rollers are the simplest and best value and take blackout or dimout fabrics for bedrooms. Romans give a soft, curtain-like fold in living rooms. Venetians and wooden slats let you tilt light rather than just block it, which suits kitchens and studies. Verticals handle wide spans and patio doors. Day & night blinds have alternating stripes so you can trade privacy against light through the day.
