Explained

Purple blinds, explained

Purple blinds bring together everything in the range with a violet, mauve, lilac or plum tone somewhere in the fabric or slat colour. That spans plain matt weaves in soft dusky pink-mauve through to bold, saturated violet metal venetians, plus a few patterned fabrics where purple appears as an accent within a wider design. You'll find it across roller, vertical, skylight and Perfect Fit venetian blinds, as well as some curtain fabrics that cross over into blinds listings. Because the shade varies so much from pale lilac to deep magenta, it's worth treating this filter as a starting point for browsing rather than a guarantee that every result is the same purple.

Suits homes wanting a considered accent colour rather than a neutral scheme, from soft lilac cottage-style rooms through to bolder violet or magenta statement windows.

Best for

  • Bedrooms and living rooms where a deep or dusky accent colour suits the scheme
  • Bathrooms and conservatories via Perfect Fit venetians in violet or magenta tones
  • Children's rooms and nurseries looking for a softer lilac or mauve rather than a bold shade
  • Pattern lovers, as several purple-toned fabrics come as woodland prints or art-deco motifs rather than plain colour

Worth knowing

  • Purple covers a wide span here, from pale lilac and dusky mauve through to strong violet and magenta, so check the actual swatch or sample against your own light rather than judging by the thumbnail
  • Some ranges list purple as one of several colourways on the same fabric, so confirm with your advisor that the specific shade you want is available in that product

How to choose

  1. 1

Match the depth of colour to the room

Pale lilac and dusky mauve sit well as a quiet backdrop in bedrooms and bathrooms, while a saturated violet or magenta venetian works better as a deliberate accent in a smaller window.

  2. 2

Think about light and fabric type

A matt roller or venetian slat reads flatter and truer to the swatch, while textured weaves and velvets can shift the shade depending on the time of day; ordering a sample against your own window helps.

  3. 3

Check what's actually built into the product

Some purple options here are plain venetian slats, others are patterned curtain or blind fabrics with purple as one tone among several, so look at the type and room tags as well as the colour.

Purple blinds: questions people ask

Will the purple I see on screen match the fabric in my room?

Screens vary, and purple shades in particular can look different under artificial light versus daylight. Your advisor brings the physical sample range to your home appointment and holds fabrics against your own windows in your own light, so you can judge the true colour before ordering.

Are the purple venetian blinds suitable for a bathroom?

The Perfect Fit metal venetian blinds shown in violet and magenta tones are a practical choice for bathrooms, as metal slats wipe clean easily. Your advisor can confirm which specific purple products are recommended for wet rooms on the day.

Can I get a purple blackout blind for a bedroom?

Yes, several of the purple-toned ranges are available as blackout blinds or blackout curtains, and some also carry the Better Sleep Blinds feature. Ask your advisor which fabrics in this filter come in a blackout version for your bedroom.

Some of these results look patterned rather than plain purple, is that right?

Yes. A number of the ranges tagged here use purple as one tone within a wider print or colourway, such as a lilac woodland design or a dusky mauve weave, rather than being a single flat purple. Check each product's description to see how strongly purple features.

Can I order a sample before choosing a purple shade?

Yes, free fabric samples are available, up to five per order, posted first class. This is a useful way to compare a couple of purple shades side by side before your home appointment.

1. Roller and brackets

The fabric winds onto a tube held by two small brackets, inside the recess or on the wall above it. Which one suits your window is settled when it's measured.

Your advisor brings samples of every option to your window, so you can see and feel them before you choose.

Why our purple blinds service is right for you

01

Cut to your window, not trimmed to fit

We measure each recess on site and allow for handles, tiles, sills and tilt-and-turn frames before anything is made.

02

Samples seen in your own light

A fabric that looks warm under showroom lighting can read grey at home. Your advisor brings the range to your rooms so you judge it against your walls.

03

Fitted by the people who sold it

Our own fitter installs, squares up and takes the packaging away. Nothing is subcontracted out and there is no surprise charge at the end.

04

One year of cover

Fabric, mechanism and fitting are covered by our 1-year guarantee. If a chain or a bracket fails, we come back out and put it right.

Finance options available. We offer flexible ways to pay so a whole-house refresh doesn't have to land in one go. Your advisor will talk you through what's available at your appointment.

Purple blinds: your questions answered

How this type behaves in a real room, plus how measuring, fitting and the guarantee work.

Is fitting included in the price?

Yes. The quote you are given covers the product, the fitting and the guarantee. Your fitter hangs everything, checks the operation with you and takes the packaging away.

Who measures the windows?

Your advisor does, on the appointment. That matters for more than convenience: because we take the measurements, the fit is our responsibility rather than yours. Every opening is measured on its own — we never size one window off the one next to it.

What guarantee do I get?

A 1-year guarantee on every blind, shutter and motor we supply and fit. If something goes wrong inside that period, ring the office and we come back out.

Which type of blind suits which room?

Rollers are the simplest and best value and take blackout or dimout fabrics for bedrooms. Romans give a soft, curtain-like fold in living rooms. Venetians and wooden slats let you tilt light rather than just block it, which suits kitchens and studies. Verticals handle wide spans and patio doors. Day & night blinds have alternating stripes so you can trade privacy against light through the day.
