Explained
Brown blinds, explained
Brown blinds cover a wide span of warm, earthy tones, from deep chocolate metal venetian slats to softer fawn, taupe and mushroom fabrics that sit between brown and cream. This filter pulls together blinds across rollers, verticals, venetians and perfect fit styles wherever a brown or brown-adjacent colourway appears in the range, so you will see plain woven textures alongside metal slats with a warm sheen. Because "brown" spans such a broad range of shades, it is worth looking closely at each range's own photos and description, and ordering samples, rather than assuming every result is the same tone.
Suits interiors built around warm neutrals, wood tones and natural materials, from traditional country kitchens to more contemporary schemes using taupe, fawn or terracotta as a grounding colour.
Best for
- Kitchens, dining rooms and living rooms where warm, earthy tones suit wood floors and furniture
- Conservatories and patio doors, where brown venetian slats or blackout roller fabrics are common choices
- Bedrooms wanting a warm, restful backdrop rather than a stark neutral
- Anyone matching existing wood tones, worktops or flooring rather than starting from a blank palette
Worth knowing
- Some ranges shown under this filter are plain fawn, taupe or mushroom tones rather than a true brown, so check the fabric image and order a sample before deciding
- A few results here (such as Bespoke and Gossamer) are broader ranges where brown is only one option among several colourways, rather than a dedicated brown fabric
How to choose
- 1
Match the finish to the room
Metal venetians in warm brown tones suit conservatories and dining rooms; brushed or woven fabrics in taupe and terracotta suit bedrooms and living rooms where a softer texture is wanted.
- 2
Check against your own light
Brown reads differently in north- and south-facing rooms, and against wood or laminate flooring. Your advisor brings samples to hold against your own window and furniture before you decide.
- 3
Think about what the room needs
If it is a bathroom, kitchen or a room with small children, ask about wipeable or cordless options in brown rather than assuming every fabric shown here comes in every finish.
Brown blinds: questions people ask
Do brown venetian blinds come in a metal finish or only wood?
Both appear under this filter. Some ranges are real metal venetian slats finished in warm brown or amber tones, others are engineered wood or fabric-look finishes. The look description on each range tells you which, and your advisor can bring physical samples of each finish to compare against your window.
Will the brown shade in the photo match the brown in my room?
Screens vary, and brown fabrics in particular can shift towards grey, red or gold depending on the light and the material. Order up to five free samples and view them in your own room before committing, rather than relying on the online image alone.
Are there brown options suitable for a bathroom or kitchen?
Some ranges in this filter, such as the perfect fit metal venetians, are suited to steamy rooms, while others are fabric and not designed for constant moisture. Ask your advisor which brown finishes are wipeable or waterproof for your specific room.
Can I get brown blackout blinds for a bedroom?
Yes, several ranges shown here combine a brown or taupe colourway with a blackout fabric, aimed at bedrooms. Check the range's type tags for 'Blackout blinds' and confirm with your advisor that the specific brown shade you want is available in that fabric.
Do brown blinds come with cordless or motorised options?
Several ranges in this filter list cordless mechanisms, and motorisation can usually be added to most fabrics regardless of colour. If cords are a concern, particularly with children in the room, tell your advisor and they will point you to the cordless or motorised brown options.

1. Roller and brackets
The fabric winds onto a tube held by two small brackets, inside the recess or on the wall above it. Which one suits your window is settled when it's measured.
Your advisor brings samples of every option to your window, so you can see and feel them before you choose.

Why our brown blinds service is right for you
Cut to your window, not trimmed to fit
We measure each recess on site and allow for handles, tiles, sills and tilt-and-turn frames before anything is made.
Samples seen in your own light
A fabric that looks warm under showroom lighting can read grey at home. Your advisor brings the range to your rooms so you judge it against your walls.
Fitted by the people who sold it
Our own fitter installs, squares up and takes the packaging away. Nothing is subcontracted out and there is no surprise charge at the end.
One year of cover
Fabric, mechanism and fitting are covered by our 1-year guarantee. If a chain or a bracket fails, we come back out and put it right.
Finance options available. We offer flexible ways to pay so a whole-house refresh doesn't have to land in one go. Your advisor will talk you through what's available at your appointment.

Brown blinds: your questions answered
How this type behaves in a real room, plus how measuring, fitting and the guarantee work.
Is fitting included in the price?
Yes. The quote you are given covers the product, the fitting and the guarantee. Your fitter hangs everything, checks the operation with you and takes the packaging away.
Who measures the windows?
Your advisor does, on the appointment. That matters for more than convenience: because we take the measurements, the fit is our responsibility rather than yours. Every opening is measured on its own — we never size one window off the one next to it.
What guarantee do I get?
A 1-year guarantee on every blind, shutter and motor we supply and fit. If something goes wrong inside that period, ring the office and we come back out.
Which type of blind suits which room?
Rollers are the simplest and best value and take blackout or dimout fabrics for bedrooms. Romans give a soft, curtain-like fold in living rooms. Venetians and wooden slats let you tilt light rather than just block it, which suits kitchens and studies. Verticals handle wide spans and patio doors. Day & night blinds have alternating stripes so you can trade privacy against light through the day.
