Patterned blinds, explained
Patterned blinds bring a printed or woven design into the fabric or slat, rather than leaving it a flat, single colour. On this page that mostly means Roman and vertical blinds carrying botanical prints or geometric fretwork motifs, plus curtains in matching designs, in colourways from soft sage and stone to grey and charcoal. It's a smaller step towards pattern than a bold print elsewhere in a room, since most of the designs shown here are tonal, with the pattern reading as texture rather than a strong contrast. A few plain venetians and perfect fit blinds also sit within this filter; your advisor can confirm which fabrics carry the pattern you have in mind when they visit with samples.
Suits rooms with otherwise plain schemes that could take a printed or fretwork motif, and windows such as bays or patio doors where a repeating design has room to read properly.
Best for
- Living rooms and bedrooms where you want a design element rather than a plain fabric
- Bay and patio door windows, where a repeating motif reads well across width
- Pairing curtains and blinds in the same design for a coordinated finish
- Rooms that already have plain walls or furnishings and can take some pattern
Worth knowing
- Several results in this filter are plain venetian or perfect fit blinds rather than patterned fabric, so check the photo and look description before deciding
- Tonal patterns can look close to plain from a distance; ask for a sample against your own light if you want to be sure of the effect
How to choose
- 1
Check the scale
A large motif can look very different cut down to a narrow window than it does on a sample swatch. Have your advisor hold the fabric against the actual opening before you decide.
- 2
Match or contrast
Some patterned fabrics here come in more than one colourway. Think about whether you want it to pick up an existing colour in the room or stand apart from it.
- 3
Blind versus curtain
The same or a similar pattern can appear as a Roman blind, a vertical blind, or curtains. Consider which heading and mechanism suits the window before settling on a fabric.
Patterned blinds: questions people ask
Do the patterned designs come as both blinds and curtains?
Some do. A few of the prints and geometric designs shown in this filter appear on both a blind, such as a Roman or vertical blind, and on curtains, sometimes in more than one colourway. Ask your advisor which of a particular design's formats are available when they visit with samples.
Will the pattern look the same on a narrow window as it does in the photo?
Not necessarily. A repeating motif can be cropped differently depending on the width of the blind or curtain, so a large design may read differently on a narrow window than on a wide one. Your advisor can show you the fabric against your own opening before you order.
Can I get a patterned blind with a plain venetian or perfect fit style?
Most of the patterned designs in this filter are on Roman or vertical blinds and curtains rather than venetian slats, which are usually supplied plain. If you want a patterned finish on a venetian or perfect fit blind, check with your advisor what's available.
How do I know if a pattern will suit my room before ordering?
Order up to five free fabric samples and hold them against your walls and furnishings in your own light, or ask your advisor to bring the pattern along at your home appointment so you can see it properly before committing.
Are patterned fabrics available with blackout or thermal linings?
Some are. A few of the patterned curtains and blinds shown here are also listed with blackout or thermal properties, so the design doesn't have to come at the expense of light control or insulation. Ask your advisor to confirm which patterned fabrics carry which linings.

1. Roller and brackets
The fabric winds onto a tube held by two small brackets, inside the recess or on the wall above it. Which one suits your window is settled when it's measured.
Your advisor brings samples of every option to your window, so you can see and feel them before you choose.

Why our patterned blinds service is right for you
Cut to your window, not trimmed to fit
We measure each recess on site and allow for handles, tiles, sills and tilt-and-turn frames before anything is made.
Samples seen in your own light
A fabric that looks warm under showroom lighting can read grey at home. Your advisor brings the range to your rooms so you judge it against your walls.
Fitted by the people who sold it
Our own fitter installs, squares up and takes the packaging away. Nothing is subcontracted out and there is no surprise charge at the end.
One year of cover
Fabric, mechanism and fitting are covered by our 1-year guarantee. If a chain or a bracket fails, we come back out and put it right.
Finance options available. We offer flexible ways to pay so a whole-house refresh doesn't have to land in one go. Your advisor will talk you through what's available at your appointment.

Patterned blinds: your questions answered
How this type behaves in a real room, plus how measuring, fitting and the guarantee work.
Is fitting included in the price?
Yes. The quote you are given covers the product, the fitting and the guarantee. Your fitter hangs everything, checks the operation with you and takes the packaging away.
Who measures the windows?
Your advisor does, on the appointment. That matters for more than convenience: because we take the measurements, the fit is our responsibility rather than yours. Every opening is measured on its own — we never size one window off the one next to it.
What guarantee do I get?
A 1-year guarantee on every blind, shutter and motor we supply and fit. If something goes wrong inside that period, ring the office and we come back out.
Which type of blind suits which room?
Rollers are the simplest and best value and take blackout or dimout fabrics for bedrooms. Romans give a soft, curtain-like fold in living rooms. Venetians and wooden slats let you tilt light rather than just block it, which suits kitchens and studies. Verticals handle wide spans and patio doors. Day & night blinds have alternating stripes so you can trade privacy against light through the day.
