Explained
Silver blinds, explained
Silver blinds cover the cooler end of the neutral palette, from a pale, almost frosted grey through to deeper charcoal and metallic slat finishes. Because "silver" is used as a colourway name across many different products, you will find it on plain woven rollers, textured pleated fabrics, venetian slats with a metallic sheen, and sheer voiles with a soft silvery print. Some ranges pair a silver option with warmer tones such as cream or taupe within the same fabric family, so the shade can vary depending on the specific weave. Requesting a sample, or having your advisor bring swatches to your own window, is the reliable way to see how a particular silver will sit in your room.
Suits contemporary, monochrome or Scandinavian-leaning interiors, and works equally well as a quiet backdrop in a room with bolder furnishings.
Best for
- Rooms with cool or neutral colour schemes where grey tones need matching, from pale dove to charcoal
- Metallic or contemporary interiors where a slatted venetian or metal finish suits the look
- Anyone wanting a fabric that reads as plain from a distance but has a subtle woven or pleated texture up close
- Sheer or semi-sheer window treatments, where silvery voiles soften light without shutting it out
- Mixing with warmer neutrals elsewhere in the house, since many of these silver shades sit within a wider range of creams and taupes
Worth knowing
- Silver covers a broad span here, from near-white and pale grey through to charcoal and metallic slat finishes, so the tone varies a good deal between ranges
- Some ranges list silver as one of several colourways alongside quite different tones (cream, taupe, even orange or pink-copper), so check the specific colourway rather than the range name
- A few products described as silver are actually greige, mauve-grey or pink-copper depending on the light, so a sample is worth requesting before deciding
How to choose
- 1
Match the finish to the room
A honeycomb pleat, a woven roller fabric and a metal venetian all read as silver but behave differently for light and privacy. Think about whether you want texture, sheen or plain matt first.
- 2
Check it against your own walls
Silver can lean warm or cool depending on the light in a room. Your advisor brings the full sample range and holds fabrics against your own windows so you can see the true tone before ordering.
- 3
Decide how much light you want filtered
Some silver fabrics here are sheer voiles that soften daylight, others are blackout or pleated options that block it. Be clear on which effect you are after before narrowing down the range.
Silver blinds: questions people ask
Will the silver I see on screen match the fabric in my home
Screens vary, and silver in particular can shift between cool grey and warm pewter depending on your light. The best way to check is a free fabric sample, or to have your advisor bring swatches to your own window during the home appointment.
Are silver blinds only available as plain fabrics
No. Within this colour you will find plain woven rollers and pleated fabrics, textured honeycomb pleats, metallic-look venetian slats, and sheer voiles with a soft silver print. The finish depends on the specific range rather than the colour itself.
Do silver blinds show marks more than darker colours
Lighter silver tones can show dust or watermarks more readily than a charcoal or black finish, though this depends on the fabric and room. Wipeable finishes are available for kitchens and bathrooms if that is a concern; ask your advisor.
Can I get silver blinds with a blackout lining
Yes, several ranges in this colour, including blackout roller and vertical options, are designed to block light fully. Others, such as the voile fabrics, are intended to filter light rather than block it, so check the type before ordering if blackout matters.
Can silver blinds be motorised
Yes, motorisation is available across most of these ranges, including the pleated and roller options shown here, whether battery or mains powered. Your advisor can talk through remote or app control and grouping several windows together on the day.

1. Roller and brackets
The fabric winds onto a tube held by two small brackets, inside the recess or on the wall above it. Which one suits your window is settled when it's measured.
Your advisor brings samples of every option to your window, so you can see and feel them before you choose.

Why our silver blinds service is right for you
Cut to your window, not trimmed to fit
We measure each recess on site and allow for handles, tiles, sills and tilt-and-turn frames before anything is made.
Samples seen in your own light
A fabric that looks warm under showroom lighting can read grey at home. Your advisor brings the range to your rooms so you judge it against your walls.
Fitted by the people who sold it
Our own fitter installs, squares up and takes the packaging away. Nothing is subcontracted out and there is no surprise charge at the end.
One year of cover
Fabric, mechanism and fitting are covered by our 1-year guarantee. If a chain or a bracket fails, we come back out and put it right.
Finance options available. We offer flexible ways to pay so a whole-house refresh doesn't have to land in one go. Your advisor will talk you through what's available at your appointment.

Silver blinds: your questions answered
How this type behaves in a real room, plus how measuring, fitting and the guarantee work.
Is fitting included in the price?
Yes. The quote you are given covers the product, the fitting and the guarantee. Your fitter hangs everything, checks the operation with you and takes the packaging away.
Who measures the windows?
Your advisor does, on the appointment. That matters for more than convenience: because we take the measurements, the fit is our responsibility rather than yours. Every opening is measured on its own — we never size one window off the one next to it.
What guarantee do I get?
A 1-year guarantee on every blind, shutter and motor we supply and fit. If something goes wrong inside that period, ring the office and we come back out.
Which type of blind suits which room?
Rollers are the simplest and best value and take blackout or dimout fabrics for bedrooms. Romans give a soft, curtain-like fold in living rooms. Venetians and wooden slats let you tilt light rather than just block it, which suits kitchens and studies. Verticals handle wide spans and patio doors. Day & night blinds have alternating stripes so you can trade privacy against light through the day.
