Explained
Gold, explained
Gold brings a warm, often metallic note to a blind, and on this filter it covers quite a range of finishes. Perfect fit no-drill venetians in metal slats give the truest gold, catching the light along each narrow louvre without any visible cords. Elsewhere, gold appears as a softer, woven tone in roller and Roman fabrics, a buttery gold vertical blind louvre, or as one shade within a printed or mixed colourway. All are made to measure and fitted by Impress's own team, whichever format and depth of gold you choose.
Gold suits warm, traditional or richly decorated interiors and works well against dark woodwork, deep wall colours or brass fittings; the paler cream-gold shades sit more quietly in neutral schemes.
Best for
- Kitchens and dining rooms wanting a warm metallic accent, especially in perfect fit venetian form
- Conservatories where a no-drill fit suits tilt and turn windows or French doors
- Living rooms and bedrooms where a soft buttery or mustard tone is wanted rather than a bright yellow
- Bay windows and larger runs, where gold appears in vertical blind louvres or as part of a floral print
Worth knowing
- The tone varies a good deal within this one filter, from soft cream-gold to deeper mustard and even a terracotta-orange, so a fabric sample against your own wall is worth doing before you decide
- Some ranges list gold only as one colourway among several rather than the main finish, so check the specific fabric or slat name on the product page, not just the range
How to choose
- 1
Decide how metallic you want it
Perfect fit venetians in gold read as a true warm metal finish with light catching each slat, while roller and Roman fabrics tend towards a softer mustard or buttery gold woven into the fabric.
- 2
Match the fitting method to your window
No-drill perfect fit suits tilt and turn windows, French doors and conservatory frames without drilling into the frame, while standard venetian, roller or vertical formats fit within or above a recess in the usual way.
- 3
Think about the room
For bathrooms and kitchens, stick to the metal or PVC perfect fit and wipeable roller fabrics shown here rather than fabric blinds, which suit living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms better.
Gold: questions people ask
Will the gold shown on screen match the fabric or slat in real light?
Screens vary, and gold tones especially can shift depending on your monitor and the light in the room where the blind will hang. Your advisor brings the full sample range to your home and holds fabrics and slats against your own windows in your own daylight, so you can check the true colour before ordering.
Are the gold perfect fit venetian blinds the same metal as the terracotta or cream versions?
Yes, these are the same no-drill perfect fit venetian blind, just offered in different slat colours. The frame, fitting method and cordless operation are the same throughout; only the finish of the slat itself changes.
Can I get a gold blind with no cords for a child's room?
Several of the gold ranges here, including the perfect fit venetians and some roller blinds, are available cordless. If the room has a cot or small children, mention this to your advisor, who can point you towards cordless or motorised options and will fit any required child-safety devices on corded blinds.
Is gold suitable for a bathroom or kitchen blind?
Some of the ranges shown, such as the perfect fit metal venetians and the wipeable roller fabrics, are suited to bathrooms and kitchens. Fabric Roman blinds and real wood finishes are better kept for living rooms and bedrooms; your advisor can confirm which gold options suit a wet or steamy room.
Does the gold vertical blind louvre come in a plain colour as well as the floral print?
Yes, gold appears both as a plain woven louvre, such as the buttery gold shown in the textured vertical blind range, and as part of a printed design featuring gold and yellow flowers. Both are shown in the wide-louvre vertical format with a base chain weight.

1. Roller and brackets
The fabric winds onto a tube held by two small brackets, inside the recess or on the wall above it. Which one suits your window is settled when it's measured.
Your advisor brings samples of every option to your window, so you can see and feel them before you choose.

Why our gold service is right for you
Cut to your window, not trimmed to fit
We measure each recess on site and allow for handles, tiles, sills and tilt-and-turn frames before anything is made.
Samples seen in your own light
A fabric that looks warm under showroom lighting can read grey at home. Your advisor brings the range to your rooms so you judge it against your walls.
Fitted by the people who sold it
Our own fitter installs, squares up and takes the packaging away. Nothing is subcontracted out and there is no surprise charge at the end.
One year of cover
Fabric, mechanism and fitting are covered by our 1-year guarantee. If a chain or a bracket fails, we come back out and put it right.
Finance options available. We offer flexible ways to pay so a whole-house refresh doesn't have to land in one go. Your advisor will talk you through what's available at your appointment.

Gold: your questions answered
How this type behaves in a real room, plus how measuring, fitting and the guarantee work.
Is fitting included in the price?
Yes. The quote you are given covers the product, the fitting and the guarantee. Your fitter hangs everything, checks the operation with you and takes the packaging away.
Who measures the windows?
Your advisor does, on the appointment. That matters for more than convenience: because we take the measurements, the fit is our responsibility rather than yours. Every opening is measured on its own — we never size one window off the one next to it.
What guarantee do I get?
A 1-year guarantee on every blind, shutter and motor we supply and fit. If something goes wrong inside that period, ring the office and we come back out.
Which type of blind suits which room?
Rollers are the simplest and best value and take blackout or dimout fabrics for bedrooms. Romans give a soft, curtain-like fold in living rooms. Venetians and wooden slats let you tilt light rather than just block it, which suits kitchens and studies. Verticals handle wide spans and patio doors. Day & night blinds have alternating stripes so you can trade privacy against light through the day.
