Explained
Bedroom blinds, explained
Bedroom blinds brings together vertical blinds, curtains and a handful of replacement slat packs, all tagged for use in a bedroom. Most of what you'll see here are vertical blinds in plain or subtly textured finishes, many available with blackout or thermal fabric for darker, warmer sleep, and several in wipeable, waterproof materials that also suit children's rooms. A smaller number of curtain ranges appear too, for anyone wanting a softer, fabric finish instead of or alongside a blind. Replacement slat packs let you refresh an existing vertical blind's louvres without a full remake.
Suits bedrooms wanting either understated textured neutrals in soft greys, creams and off-whites, or a softer curtained look in richer tones such as velvet or plain weaves in cool grey.
Best for
- Bedrooms where blackout and warmth matter more than easy-wipe practicality
- Households wanting vertical blinds in textured, plain or subtly patterned finishes rather than bold prints
- Anyone replacing worn slats on an existing vertical blind instead of buying a new one
- Bedrooms taking curtains instead of, or alongside, a blind for a softer look
- Light sleepers wanting blackout lining or blackout louvres specifically for sleep
Worth knowing
- This filter mixes ready-to-fit vertical blinds with replacement slat packs, curtains and lining accessories, so not every result is a full blind
- Waterproof and easy-wipe vertical blinds are practical for bedrooms but originally suited to bathrooms, so check the look suits your room before choosing on that basis alone
How to choose
- 1
Decide blackout or filtered
If you sleep lightly or want a completely dark room, look for options tagged blackout rather than just thermal. Curtains need a blackout lining; blinds need blackout-rated fabric or louvres.
- 2
Blind, curtain or both
A vertical blind alone suits a plain, low-fuss window. Curtains add softness and can be layered over a blind fitted in the reveal for both function and finish.
- 3
New blind or just new slats
If an existing vertical blind's louvres are faded or torn but the mechanism still works, a replacement slat pack refreshes it without a full remake; check the pack matches your current slat width and drop.
Bedroom blinds: questions people ask
Can I fit a replacement slat pack myself, or does it need an advisor visit?
Replacement slats are designed to slot into an existing vertical blind's headrail, so many customers do this themselves. If you're unsure which width or drop you have, or the blind was originally fitted by us, ask your advisor to confirm the right pack on the day.
Are the vertical blinds shown here suitable for a bedroom, given some are also listed for bathrooms?
Yes. Materials such as PVC and easy-wipe fabrics are simply chosen for being wipeable and moisture-resistant, which also makes them practical in a bedroom, particularly for children's rooms. They work equally well without that requirement; it's a bonus rather than a restriction.
What's the difference between thermal and blackout for a bedroom blind or curtain?
Thermal fabrics and linings are aimed at reducing heat loss through the window and will dim a room somewhat, but they're not designed to block light fully. Blackout fabric, lining or louvres are specifically for excluding daylight, which matters more for sleep than for warmth.
Can vertical blinds be motorised for a bedroom?
Yes, vertical blinds can be fitted with a battery or mains motor and controlled by remote or app, which suits bedrooms with windows behind furniture or where you'd rather not use a cord near a bed. Your advisor can talk through the options for your window.
If I choose curtains for the bedroom, can I still get a blind for the same window?
Yes, it's a common combination: a blind fitted inside the window reveal for daily light control and privacy, with curtains hung outside it for warmth and appearance. Your advisor can measure and quote both together on the same visit.

1. Roller and brackets
The fabric winds onto a tube held by two small brackets, inside the recess or on the wall above it. Which one suits your window is settled when it's measured.
Your advisor brings samples of every option to your window, so you can see and feel them before you choose.

Cut to your window, not trimmed to fit
We measure each recess on site and allow for handles, tiles, sills and tilt-and-turn frames before anything is made.

A fabric that looks warm under showroom lighting can read grey at home. Your advisor brings the range to your rooms so you judge it against your walls.
Fitted by the people who sold it
Our own fitter installs, squares up and takes the packaging away. Nothing is subcontracted out and there is no surprise charge at the end.
One year of cover
Fabric, mechanism and fitting are covered by our 1-year guarantee. If a chain or a bracket fails, we come back out and put it right.
Finance options available. We offer flexible ways to pay so a whole-house refresh doesn't have to land in one go. Your advisor will talk you through what's available at your appointment.

Bedroom blinds: your questions answered
How this type behaves in a real room, plus how measuring, fitting and the guarantee work.
Is fitting included in the price?
Yes. The quote you are given covers the product, the fitting and the guarantee. Your fitter hangs everything, checks the operation with you and takes the packaging away.
Who measures the windows?
Your advisor does, on the appointment. That matters for more than convenience: because we take the measurements, the fit is our responsibility rather than yours. Every opening is measured on its own — we never size one window off the one next to it.
What guarantee do I get?
A 1-year guarantee on every blind, shutter and motor we supply and fit. If something goes wrong inside that period, ring the office and we come back out.
Which type of blind suits which room?
Rollers are the simplest and best value and take blackout or dimout fabrics for bedrooms. Romans give a soft, curtain-like fold in living rooms. Venetians and wooden slats let you tilt light rather than just block it, which suits kitchens and studies. Verticals handle wide spans and patio doors. Day & night blinds have alternating stripes so you can trade privacy against light through the day.
